Phase 2 of The Invisibility Project is currently in progress. Here, I delve into each of us as individuals, again with another depiction of our abstract selves. Each piece was developed from the same discussion that took place for the center showpiece canvas, “We Are the Story.” Each of us has an entirely unique experience with threads of commonality throughout. As is the case with many aspects of life, we’re together yet alone.

The gallery below contains the completed paintings and the images that will eventually become painted works. As they are completed, the digital images will be replaced with an image of the final canvas. I use each reference image for the painting to honor each of those I met during this process. To create the digital image, I employ an AI image generator, the details of which can be found in the available article. This tool, based on our discussions, helps me to visually represent our shared experiences.

My initial intention was to put all focus on this project and “forge through it.” However, the emotional toll of this subject is significant, so I scaled back and now work on this project as much as I can. Meeting all these beautiful people, all sharing this one common loss, has been deeply moving and inspiring to me. That, in turn, has carried me on the early part of my grief journey. We will be on this path for the rest of our days. I’m grateful for the time they each spent with me on our Zoom sessions.
