Dear Valued Subscriber,

I hope this message finds you well! Allow me to take a moment to introduce myself to you. My name is Leigh Witherell, and I am a figurative contemporary artist deeply passionate about capturing the essence of human experience through my work. Art has always been a significant part of my life, and I am thrilled to share my journey and creations with you.

My specialty lies in fine art nudes, where I strive to celebrate the beauty of the human form in a way that honors both the physical appearance and the emotional depth of my subjects. Additionally, I delve into what I like to call “emotional” figurative art. This approach is particularly meaningful to me because it allows me to listen to the stories, thoughts, and feelings of the people I portray. Instead of focusing solely on how someone looks, I base my compositions on what I hear and sense from them.

I believe that art can bridge the gap between what we see and what we feel, and it is often in that delicate space that I find the most profound inspiration for my work. Each piece I create is a reflection of the individual’s unique narrative, capturing not just their likeness, but the emotions and experiences that define them.

Thank you for joining me on this artistic journey. I look forward to sharing my thoughts, insights, and creations with you as we explore the world of art together!

Warm regards,

Leigh Witherell

What People are saying

“At the core of Leigh’s practice is a belief that artists serve as visual historians. Her works are not just images but records of the time in which she lives, grief, intimacy, political uncertainty, and resilience captured in color and form.”

Tech News Vision.com

“Leigh’s artistic voice is distinct in its restraint. She avoids overly bright palettes, instead leaning into earth tones that invite viewers to see themselves within the frame. Her brushwork is urgent, sometimes impatient, which gives her compositions an honesty that feels immediate. Rather than polish emotions into something distant, she allows them to stay raw. The result is art that does not tell viewers what to feel but gives them the space to reflect on their own experiences of loss, love, and resilience.”

“Leigh’s art holds a quiet intensity—the kind that arrives from lived experience rather than theory. Her work looks at relationships, the human body, and the emotions that live in the small, often unspoken moments. Behind those images is a life shaped by family, hardship, devotion, and an unshakable habit of getting back to the studio each morning.”

“For Leigh, a painting succeeds only if it captures the truth of a moment. She sees every work as part of a larger narrative about life, one made up of countless small stories. As she puts it, life itself is a collection of stories woven together, and art is her way of honoring them.”

I had the privilege of adding The Lover’s Kiss by Leigh Witherell to my collection, and it has quickly become the centerpiece of my home. The piece is absolutely stunning capturing the intimate, timeless feeling of looking out into a moment shared between two lovers along the Mediterranean.
What makes it even more special is the way it’s displayed. The unique hanging that Leigh's work specialises draws your eye from the side first, creating a sense of discovery before you’re met with the full beauty from the front. It’s truly unlike anything else I own.
Every guest who visits my comments on it, it’s the artwork that gets the most attention and admiration in my condo. Leigh has an excellent ability to create something both personal and universal, full of movement and soul.
I feel fortunate to have found her at this stage of her career, and I’m excited to watch her continue to grow and collaborate with other artists.

Please feel free to use any photos of it, I have also allowed her to make prints of it too if desired.

Sincerely,

—Alle Shane

Intimate Equality – Leigh Witherell’s painting of two lovers is a deeply moving work that captures the essence of intimacy and human connection. The semi-nude figures of man and woman are portrayed with such tenderness that the composition radiates romance, affection, and a profound sense of security. Every brushstroke conveys warmth and vulnerability, inviting the viewer to feel the quiet strength of love in its purest form. It is a piece that not only enriches the room it hangs in, but also stirs the heart each time it is seen.
